What we do

The main role and function of SHED is undertaking the intensive participatory sustainable development processes while its main motto is to extend its support towards disadvantaged people of Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong region for ensuring their better health, nutrition, and livelihood and also for increasing their resilience towards natural and anthropogenic disasters and calamities.

In its three decades journey, in partnership with different international, national and UN agencies the organization has provided different ranges of services towards the poor and under privileged people of Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong region that includes better health service, improved water, sanitation and hygiene, better nutrition, livelihood development, disaster risk reduction, youth empowerment, forest conservation and biodiversity conservation through co-management approach, social amelioration, food security of rural poor, betterment for disable inhabitants, non-formal education, awareness on HIV/ AIDS, family planning, etc. SHED has been playing an active role in humanitarian responses for displaced Rohingya since October 2017.
